About me

I am a Registered Social Worker and Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Masters Degree in Play Therapy.

I studied Social Work at the University of Cape Town in South Africa and had the priviledge of working with children in many different settings during my practicums. These experiences increased my passion for helping children and led me to Play Therapy. I completed a Masters Degree in Play Therapy in South Africa through The University of South Africa (UNISA) and felt I had found my calling.

I absolutely love what I do. A client once said to me "you are so lucky, you get to play all day" and I really do!

I have experience working with children and youth dealing with a variety of issues including self-esteem, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, aggressive and disruptive behaviour, separation and divorce.

I have worked in school settings, clinic settings, residential settings and private practice.

I have had the pleasure of working at BC Families in Transition as a facilitator for the "Caught in the Middle" program and as a contract counsellor.

I worked at Victoria Group Perspectives Therapy Services as a Social Cognitive Therapist, and at The Military Family Resoure centre providing Social thinking groups.

I have 2 children of my own and enjoy rediscovering the world through their eyes.
